Bush Campaign Hires Paramilitary Security Firm

Bush Campaign Paying Firm That Specializes In Paramilitaries (3/19/2004 - Daily KOS)

The Daily KOS blog reveals that FEC records show the Bush campaign has hired Vance International, one of the new breed of security firms offering everything from labor busting to sophisticated surveillance and infiltration to protection for international and government leaders. Vance also just opened an office in Iraq, which requires the approval of the Pentagon.

The FEC records show the Bush campaign has paid at least $750,000 to Vance for "personnel services/equipment."

Bush and his entire family are already protected by the Secret Service, of course. So it seems highly unlikely that Vance would be needed for that sort of service. Which only begs the question...what is Vance International doing with those "personnel services/equipment"?
